Anjou – Interior decoration of a contemporary house

1. The project & the clients

In Ville-sous-Anjou, a client wanted to transform her interior without changing houses. This home, bought 15 years ago with her former partner, was now to reflect a new life story as a couple. She liked the existing volumes, so it was a 100% decoration project, with no structural changes.

2. The challenge

The real challenge was to transform the house through a 100% decoration project without altering the volumes. The kitchen, recently renovated, was not to be changed. The entire space needed to be fully modernized with completely new furniture, while respecting a limited budget and a strict timeline. Additionally, the house needed to reflect the new life as a couple. It was also necessary to integrate a multifunctional space, combining a practical dressing area for her frequent travels and a guest bedroom.

3. The solution

We modernized all the living areas: new flooring, soft and warm colours, and completely redesigned and renewed furniture. Regarding the kitchen, using the existing cabinets, we redesigned its layout (previously a U-shape) and by adding just two new cabinets, we created a central island, improving the flow and conviviality of the space. In the living room, an island sofa allowed enjoying both the television and the fireplace, which had previously been poorly positioned in relation to each other. A custom TV unit, perfectly fitting the wall, was also designed to hold books and personal objects.

4. The transformation

Without touching the walls, the house changed its soul. More importantly, it now offers a much greater sense of space, almost as if they had moved. It is no longer the same house: it no longer tells the same story, it no longer has the same soul. It now perfectly reflects who they are, their life together, and their future plans.
