1. The Project & the Clients
South of Lyon, a couple was considering selling their old house. They no longer felt at ease there and didn’t recognize themselves in the space. Before making a final decision, they chose to explore another path: transformation.
2. The Challenge
She dreamed of an open, sociable kitchen where she could cook while enjoying apéritifs with family and friends. He longed for a quieter, more peaceful living room for reading and relaxing. The challenge: to reconcile two different desires in a house with a rigid layout, dark and divided by partitions.

3. The Solution
I completely rethought the home’s circulation: by switching the kitchen and the living room, the kitchen was brought to the heart of the space, opening onto the main living area. An unused bedroom was incorporated into the kitchen zone to expand the convivial space. The closed-off entryway and several walls were removed, allowing light to flow through from one side of the house to the other.
The living room, once facing a blank wall, was reoriented toward the outside. From the sofa, you now enjoy a beautiful view of the mountains — and a cosier, more inviting atmosphere.
A custom-made door was created to elegantly separate the day and night areas. Finally, a painting very dear to the client — once stored in the garage — inspired the new colour palette: soft, vibrant, and full of personality.
4. The Transformation
Today, the house is unrecognizable. Brighter, more open, and more welcoming, it now perfectly reflects the personality of its owners. The couple feels truly at home again — and selling is no longer an option. This is more than a renovation: it’s a reinvented way of living.
