1. The Project & the Clients
The project involves the childhood apartment of the gentleman, where the clients lived and felt the need to modernize the space to better suit their current life, with two children. They needed a dedicated space for teleworking.
The apartment benefits from large windows and plenty of natural light but tended to get quite warm, hence the need for air conditioning. Their requirements also included a larger kitchen, as the old kitchen was small, narrow, and lacked exterior windows. They also wanted separate toilets, a larger bathroom with a bathtub, a dedicated laundry area, and more open spaces.
2.The Challenge
The main challenge was to reorganize the apartment within the existing volume, taking into account the load-bearing stone walls that limited structural modifications. The goal was to meet functional needs without compromising the building’s structure.

3. The Solution
We relocated the kitchen to the large living-dining area, creating a spacious open kitchen. The former kitchen was split into two parts: one became a laundry room and pantry dedicated to the new kitchen, while the other was used to enlarge the bathroom and create a separate toilet.
A new floor was installed to allow for complete renovation of plumbing and electrical systems. Air conditioning was integrated into the bathroom ceilings, with an adapted unit that cools the entire apartment.
A dedicated office was created in one of the bedrooms, separated by a glass partition that preserves natural light and maintains a sense of openness.
4.The Transformation
The result is impressive: the kitchen volume tripled, the bathroom and toilets are much more comfortable, the office is functional, and the apartment is now air-conditioned.
This project perfectly blends technical solutions and aesthetics to provide an apartment tailored to the clients’ lifestyle.
